Meet the Founder
Darither Smith founded Kids With No Voice out of a deep, personal commitment to making sure no child feels alone. By day, she works as a Drug Coordinator at Texas Oncology, helping cancer patients access financial assistance for treatment, regardless of their income, so they never have to face their fight alone. She’s also an author, having written on the impact of family hardship and the ways systems can fail the people who need them most. Darither brings that same heart for advocacy to every family KWNV serves, showing up not for recognition, but because she believes every child deserves someone in their corner.
Our Mission
Our mission is to protect and support society's most vulnerable children by connecting them to the compassionate care and resources they need after experiencing abuse. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where every child can begin to heal, build resilience, and develop the tools needed for a healthier future. Through community outreach, advocacy, and unwavering support, we strive to restore hope and empower children and their families on their journey toward recovery.
In Loving Memory of Wendell ‘Mon’ Williams
October 5, 1986 – October 8, 2017
Kids With No Voice was founded in memory of Darither’s son, Wendell ‘Mon’ Williams. Mon was a devoted father, a gifted athlete who played college football and went on to play professionally, and a man who spent his life helping others, including working with kids with special needs. He was known for his warmth, his drive, and the way he showed up for the people he loved. Every family KWNV connects to care and resources is a way of carrying his memory forward and making sure no child ever feels like they have no one in their corner.

Mon’s Legacy Lives On
Mon’s memory continues to shape the work we do. In December 2025, Darither received the Lifetime Child Advocate Award through the Mon Williams Foundation and Kids With No Voice, presented with love by Lyenise Veasley and family. In his honor, KWNV has also awarded three $500 athletic scholarships to graduating students, carrying his passion for sport and mentorship forward into the next generation.
Who We Serve
We focus on vulnerable children and families, especially those who have experienced abuse or significant trauma.
We believe that no child should have to navigate the complex system of care alone, and no family should be left without support during their hardest moments.
How We Work
We are connectors and advocates. We don't wait for families to find us—we go out into communities through active outreach.
We partner with other nonprofits and local service providers to build a web of support around a child. Whether they need mental health support, housing assistance, or basic needs, we identify the need and get them to the right resources.

Darither Smith is the founder of Kids With No Voice, born from her personal commitment to ensuring no child feels alone. She also serves as Democratic Precinct Chair #3325 for Mesquite, TX, advocating for her community at every level. An author and passionate advocate, she founded KWNV in memory of her son, Wendell 'Mon' Williams, and was honored with the Lifetime Child Advocate Award in 2025 for her dedication to vulnerable children and families.
